Creative & Experiential Counselling‍

‍ ‍for Burnout, Emotional Healing & Self-Discovery

Creative & Experiential Counselling offers a gentle and creative way to explore what you’re carrying when words feel difficult, overwhelming, or simply not enough. It’s a space to slow down, express what’s beneath the surface, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe.

As a mental health practitioner, I work with people experiencing burnout, anxiety, mental health challenges, neurodivergence, and those navigating the impact of trauma. These lived experiences often include facing discrimination, exclusion, or systems that have not made space for them to flourish and reveal their full potential.

Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted from holding everything together for too long. Others feel disconnected from themselves, stuck in survival mode, or unsure of how to make sense of what they’re feeling. Together, we create space to work through these experiences using evidence based approaches and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

A Creative Space for Healing & Reconnection

In our sessions, you are invited to explore your inner world through creative expression in whatever form feels right for you. This might include drawing, writing, movement, nature therapy, or simply noticing what arises in the process.

There is no expectation to create ‘beautiful art’ or to explain yourself perfectly. We follow your pace, your comfort, and what feels supportive in the moment.

Alongside Arts Therapy, I integrate various counselling skills, to support reflection, grounding, and practical coping tools. This allows sessions to be lead by how you feel on the day, which can include both creative exploration, and supportive ways of making sense of thoughts, emotions, and patterns.

About Your Therapist

I’m Chrissie, a Creative and Experiential Counsellor with a Masters in Arts Therapy, BA in Community Development, Diploma in Welfare Work (Counselling Major), and a background in community development, social work and training.

My practice is trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and grounded in genuine care, respect, and inclusivity. I draw on Arts Therapy procedures, alongside traditional counselling approaches including, CBT, Narrative therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, ACT, and elements of IFS-informed parts-work to help clients explore inner dynamics, cultivate self-compassion, and navigate competing emotional states.

I’m especially passionate about supporting women experiencing burnout, neurodiverse people, and those navigating the impact of systemic stress and exclusion.

You Are Welcome Here

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, emotionally overloaded, or simply curious about what might be possible for you, you are welcome to begin exactly where you are.

There is no pressure to have the right words or a clear direction; we can start gently, one step at a time.

"… the embodiment of sensed and felt knowings can, through movement or reenactment, release feelings into emotions front within the body, bringing their felt understandings into connection with kinaesthetic imagery experienced but never processed.

The body holds powerful memories of such experiencing that are able to be accessed" (Lett, W., 2011).
